Wayward Smokehouse & Curious Oyster, the Avenue at White Marsh

Owner: White Oak Hospitality

Architect: inPlace Design

Project value: $2,050,000

This project included the complete transformation of an existing 8,000 sq foot stand-alone building, formerly Don Pablo's restaurant, located at The Avenue in White Marsh. It is now a dual concept restaurant with Curious Oyster on one side and Wayward Smokehouse on the other side. They have shared public bathrooms and a shared back-of-house kitchen and production area, and are joined by a central corridor. The interior and exterior design of each concept is completely unique.

Building two completely unique restaurant concepts in one space, with the complexities of the interior and exterior design of each, as a renovation of an existing building made this a very special project. UrbanBuilt completely transformed the interior and exterior of the building, including the breezeway between this building and the next. Key features of the project include complex millwork, second story mezzanine with bar, and indoor/outdoor bar areas with fire pit.
